Happy Mother's Day and an End of the Year Freebie

Better late than never, but Happy Mother's Day to all my blogging friends! I hope it has been the best one ever! Over on my facebook page, I posted a picture of the craft that we made for our awesome classroom mothers! In case you missed it, here is a little looksy!

I have made these for my classroom mothers and through multiple siblings.  It was awesome to hear that some of them still have them and treasure them!

I know many of you are only a FEW days away from summer vacay!  Please, please don't rub it in!  We have to go until June 6th!  I know, right?!   We still have 19 days to go!  I'm looking so forward to summer, but another part of me is soooooo sad!  I have a great group of sweet kiddos and am going to HATE to see them go!

Anyway...

Many of you are looking for a great activity to share with your kiddos for the end of the year.  My students have always loved this next little freebie!  It is a little memory booklet that the students will be able to take home that includes things that their classmates liked or remembered about them.  It gives them a way to practice those writing skills that you have been working on all year long! I have included some color versions and black and white versions. Just click on the picture to take you to TeachersPayTeachers.

I hope you and your kiddos enjoy!

BTW, I guess I'm just begging for a letdown, but how many days of school do you have left??  I promise I won't cry...well, maybe... ;)

Till next time...

Mother's Day, LGA Linky, and...A WINNER!

Happy Mother's Day, y'all!  I hope you have had a great day of spoiling and pampering!

I'm linking up this beautiful Mother's Day with Lotoya at Flying Into First quickly and then heading out to a nice dinner with the fam!

      Her questions this week are:

1.  What made you decide to become a teacher?
2. What has been your most rewarding experience as a teacher?
3. If you were not a teacher, what would you be?

1.  I originally wanted to be a speech-language pathologist, but one day, I just decided that I wanted to be a teacher!  It was just sort of like, "Yes, that's what I want to be!"

2.  I love when those students who have struggled finally get it!  That little light bulb moment is priceless!  I love being able to share the joy of just being a kid!

3.  If I was not a teacher, I would love to be a photographer!  I love taking pictures!  Follow me on instagram:

Five for Friday...Flashback {May 10 edition}

Happy Friday y'all!   This has been a really long week.  It was just Tuesday and felt like it should be Friday already!  We have sooo much end of the year stuff going on that I just feel exhausted thinking about it.  And, I don't think next week will be any better!  I will have no - none - zilch - absolutely no planning at all next week.  Ugh!  I'm sooo not looking forward to that!  But, on the brighter side, we only have ten days of school left!!  Yipee!!

Friday also means linking up with Amanda at Teaching Maddeness and Doodle Bugs Teaching.  I just love these two linkys!!

                                      fiveforfriday

We are anxiously waiting for our caterpillars to turn into butterflies.  They should be in the pupa stage when we return on Monday.  I sure hope we don't miss them hatching since we only have ten days of school left!  I can't complain though!  They were a gift from a sweet mom/teacher who sent them down as a surprise when we returned from our butterfly center field trip last week.  The caterpillars are really getting big and were starting to make their way to the top of the container today!  So exciting!!

Were you spoiled for Teacher's Appreciation this week?  I hope so!  Our school, PTO, Partners in Education, and parents really spoiled all of us!  I wish I had gotten some pics, but I wasn't thinking apparently!  So, I give you this:

My son rescued a cute kitty this past week!  We fell in love!  Well, almost all of us!  My sweet hubby would say, "Who is you little friend We?"  He did not fall in love!  We kept it overnight, but that was it.  The mister found a forever home very quickly!  A man, from his work, and his wife fell in love with the pics because it reminded them of a kitty they had many years ago.  They decided to name it - Mira, but pronounced more like Mirror because she was a mirror image of their former kitty!  Sweet!

We also this week got to try out Adventure to Fitness!  It was soooooo much fun!!!  I blogged about it HERE!  If you haven't tried it with your kids, you must try it!  The kids love it!

And, for Mother's Day, we made ceramic tiles with their handprints.  They turned out so cute!

All I did was use 6x6 ceramic tiles, acrylic craft paint, a Sharpie, and clear spray enamel.  Easy peasy!  And mom's everywhere like to be reminded of how sweet their little one's hands are!   They can hang them up, use as a coaster, or trivet, or anything they'd like!

I hope your week was great!  Can't wait to read about it!!

Oh, and there's one more day to enter my giveaway!  Enter before it's too late!!!!
